1. Who we are

itechnicalearning (itechnicalearning.com) is run by iTechnica, the team behind the iTechnica YouTube channel. In this policy "we" and "us" means iTechnica; "you" means anyone who visits or uses the website. We decide how your personal data is used (we are the "Data Fiduciary" under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023).

2. What we collect and why

When you create an account

  • Name and email address — to log you in, show your name on your progress and certificate, and send you messages you ask for (such as a password reset link).
  • Password — stored only as a secure one-way hash (bcrypt). Nobody, including us, can read your password.

When you learn and take quizzes

  • Quiz and exam attempts — which questions you got, your answers, scores and the times you started and finished. We use this to grade you, show your progress and decide when the final exam opens.
  • Final exam integrity log — during the final exam, the website records when you leave the exam (switch tab or window, leave fullscreen, press PrintScreen, reload the page). This keeps the exam fair; after 3 warnings the exam is submitted automatically. Only you and our administrators can see this log.
  • Certificates — when you pass the final exam we store the certificate number, your name, your score and the date.

When you contact us

  • Name, email, topic and message — to answer you.
  • IP address of the sender — only to deal with spam and abuse.

Automatically

  • Technical data — like any website, our server may keep short-term logs of requests (IP address, browser, pages visited, errors) to keep the service running and secure.

We use your data only for these purposes. We process it because you ask us to (you create an account, take a quiz or send a message) and give your consent by using those features. We never sell or rent your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. What other people can see

  • Your progress, answers and exam logs are private — visible only to you and our administrators.
  • Certificates can be checked by anyone who has the certificate number on our verify page. It shows the name on the certificate, the track, the final exam score and the date. This lets employers and colleges confirm your certificate is real. Share the number only with people you want to see it.
  • Articles show the name of the author (our team).

4. Cookies

The website itself only uses cookies it needs to work:

  • Session cookie — keeps you logged in while you use the site (it expires after 2 hours of inactivity).
  • Security (XSRF) cookie — protects forms against attacks from other websites.
  • "Keep me logged in" cookie — only if you tick that box when logging in.

Advertising cookies. On our public pages, Google shows ads and uses cookies to do so — see "Google AdSense" in section 5, including how to turn off personalised ads. Ads and their cookies are not used on quizzes, exams, results, certificates or account pages. (Videos from YouTube may also set their own cookies when you play them.)

5. Other services we use

  • YouTube (Google) — our videos and playlists are shown with YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com) and video pictures come from YouTube. When you watch a video, YouTube receives information such as your IP address and may store data in your browser, under Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google AdSense (advertising) — the website is free because it shows ads from Google on public pages. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and to measure them. You can turn off personalised ads in Google's Ad Settings (or at aboutads.info). Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. We never share your account, progress or exam data with advertisers.
  • Google Fonts — our fonts are loaded from Google's servers, which receive your IP address when a page loads.
  • Email — emails such as password reset links are sent through an email delivery service, which handles your email address only to deliver the message.
  • Hosting — the website and its database run on a hosting provider's servers.
  • Safe Exam Browser (only if an exam requires it) — a free exam browser you install yourself; it runs on your computer and does not send us personal data beyond normal page requests.

Links to other websites (for example our social media pages) are governed by those websites' own policies.

6. How long we keep data

  • Account, progress and certificates — as long as your account exists. When your account is deleted, your quiz attempts and certificates are deleted with it (the certificate number then no longer verifies).
  • Contact messages — until we have dealt with them, and at most 2 years.
  • Password reset links — expire after 60 minutes.
  • Server logs — kept only for a short time for security and fixing problems.

7. Security

We protect your data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, protection against cross-site request forgery, limits on repeated login attempts, and by giving only administrators access to learning records. No website can be 100% secure, but we work to keep your data safe and will inform you and the authorities as required by law if a breach affects you.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • show you the personal data we hold about you and how it is used;
  • correct or update it;
  • delete your account and data (you can also withdraw your consent this way);
  • deal with a complaint (grievance) about how we use your data;
  • let a person you nominate act for you if you die or are unable to.

Contact us by email at hello@itechnicalearning.com or through our contact form from the email address of your account. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

9. Children

itechnicalearning is meant for students. If you are under 18, you may use the website only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to this policy for you. We do not knowingly collect data from children without that permission; if you believe this has happened, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. For important changes we will tell registered users on the website or by email.

11. Contact and grievances

Questions, requests or complaints about your personal data: contact iTechnica by email at hello@itechnicalearning.com or through our contact form.
